Submission to the UN Committee on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights at the 49th session during the consideration of the Initial report of Mauritania

5 November 2012

MRG, Anti-Slavery International and SOS-Esclaves submitted a shadow report in September 2012 to the UN Committee on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights for the consideration of the Committee on the occasion of Mauritania’s review. The report draws on and supplements the information submitted to the pre-sessional working group in November 2011.

The information set out in the report was based on research and work carried out by MRG, Anti-Slavery International and SOS-Esclaves, regarding slavery practices in Mauritania.
