We are proud to present a premiere screening of our short documentary ‘Up the Hills; Down the Valley’, followed by a Q&A with the film’s producer, Gigi Berardi, and our Asia expert, Nicole Girard.

Lả and Tương, two indigenous women of Tai ethnicity from a mountainous area in the northwest of Vietnam, are living with HIV. The film documents their story – from the brink of death after infection by their drug-addicted husbands, through to their blossoming, with the encouragement of a local support group, as strong, independent women who earn a living and support their families.
