8 November 2024

Pernik and Breznik, Bulgaria: October 2024

The “Equal Through Education” project reached its inspiring conclusion with two vibrant celebrations at Temelko Nenkov Secondary School in Pernik on 11 October and Vasil Levski School in Breznik on 15 October 2024. Both events showcased the successful culmination of the ¡ project, bringing together students from diverse backgrounds for a day of creativity, engagement, and reflection.

At Temelko Nenkov School, students participated in art workshops, creating unique items by hand, and took part in lively outdoor sports and dance activities. The event highlighted the project’s focus on combating discrimination, raising awareness about online safety, and providing career guidance. The day was capped with the presentation of awards for a drawing competition centered on human rights, internet safety, and career aspirations, followed by a celebratory lunch. The school’s director and faculty expressed gratitude to the project team for their dedication throughout the initiative.

Meanwhile, at Vasil Levski School, students enjoyed creative workshops on applied arts and scales, along with chess demonstrations. The day included another round of drawing competition awards, with certificates and prizes given to the most creative works and participants. A musical performance by David Milanov, an 11th-grade student and a contestant on “The Voice of Bulgaria,” added to the festivities. The school’s director, Lina Simeonova, thanked the RYC team for their excellent collaboration in the project.

Both events celebrated the project’s successes in fostering inclusivity, creativity, and awareness, leaving a lasting impact on students and the school communities.
