Cacoapera/Kakawiras in El Salvador

    The Cacoapera (Kakawira) community resides in the department of Morazán. In some schools, the communities have taken advantage of the standard school Institutional Project (PIC) of the Ministry of Education to organize cultural rehabilitation programs of the Ulwa language using speakers or caciques (elder leaders) as community instructors.
