This evaluation into a programme of capacity building and supported advocacy with partners in 7 countries in South East Europe found that MRG’s programme strategy was appropriate, relevant and effective.  The evaluator noted that some changes of staffing during the programme had affected the relationship between MRG and partners and that the programme was affected by a reduced budget that became necessary due to financial crisis in Western European economies which affected funding for this work. Nonetheless the evaluator wrote “The ‘partner/facilitator/link’ role of MRGI as a strong international organisation with access to EU bodies has been extremely beneficial for local organisation who otherwise would not have real access to these bodies. Easing access and facilitating the process of establishing links and channels with the EU bodies was extremely useful.”
