Call for Applications for Minority Rights Group’s Youth Peace Photography Training in Thailand’s Southern Border Provinces

Youth between 18-30 years old, especially women and people with disabilities, from Thailand’s Southern Border Provinces are invited to participate in Minority Rights Group’s Youth Peace Photography Workshop, to be held 11 to 13 August 2023 at Pattani (Workshop place will announced later)
If you would like to learn how to use art for peace, photojournalism, and forms of non-violent resistance, this photography workshop will give you a basic understanding on how the power of the camera and photojournalism can be used to have an impact on the protracted violence and usher in peace and understanding. You will also learn photography basics to increase your comfort level working with cameras.
The training will be designed and led by REALFRAME, a group of Thai photojournalists and documentarists dedicated to capturing powerful individual vision and work based on true stories about human rights, politics, environmental issues, and inequality in Thailand and ASEAN.
Anticipated Timeline:
25 May 2023: Call for Applications released
23 July2023: Application deadline
28 July 2023: Announcement of the list of selected participants
11-13 August 2023: Workshop days
14 August – 10 September 2023: Field work for participants
17 September 2023: Online meeting with a trainer and announcement of the winner
