Journalists for Human Rights

Project details

  • Organization name: Journalists for Human Rights
  • Location: Tunisia
  • Facebook

In Tunisia, the issue of intersex people is often misunderstood and marginalized. Many are pressured to conform to specific gender norms. Also, the absence of a formal organizational framework in Tunisia leads to difficulty in gathering intersex people to defend their rights collectively. This project aims to empower intersex members to create an association with effective advocacy, collaborating with other human rights organizations to develop impact. It also aims to raise the awareness of professionals, such as training professionals in the medical, legal, and journalistic fields. It offers legal and medical support to help community members overcome challenges.
