Oummal’s ‘Maktoum Aid Network’ addresses statelessness among the Maktoumeen (stateless) minority in Lebanon. The network works on policy reforms to ensure the rights and inclusion of stateless individuals under the latest law draft proposal submitted by the General Directorate of Personal Status to ease the judicial registration process for the legitimate Maktoumeen. The network’s policy agenda includes reform of nationality laws, enhancement of birth registration mechanisms, procedural reforms, procedural reforms within government agencies responsible for nationality registration and documentation, Legal recognition, and rights protection for stateless individuals’.
