Project details

  • Organization name: Public Works
  • Location: Lebanon
  • Website

The project works towards a comprehensive Right to Housing Law, expanding the existing research to include the housing conditions of minority groups who generally reside in informal settlements. This research component reveals their concealed yet pivotal role in shaping Lebanese cities: as political subjects, community organizers, and inhabitants. The project engages with affected minority groups to build alliances, and the legal propositions will be drafted to advocate for the draft law. The process towards achieving the law follows a work triangle of Research, Communication, and Advocacy, whereby outputs are designed to incorporate research findings into the public debate and are used for community engagement and social mobilization.
