Tamaguit Association for Amazigh Rights, Freedoms and Culture

Project details

  • Organization name: Tamaguit Association for Amazigh Rights, Freedoms and Culture
  • Location: Tunisia

Tamaguit Association is establishing a network that aims to empower marginalized Amazigh women in Ras El Oued and El Douiret, both in the governorate of Tataouine. These women are experiencing poverty and marginalization. This will be achieved through income-generating livelihood programs designed to facilitate a dignified standard of living for women and their families.

Additionally, the intervention targets Amazigh individuals, including women and men with academic backgrounds such as professors, lawyers, and researchers, providing them with capacity-building opportunities in advocacy and policy influencing. This initiative seeks to enhance advocacy efforts to reinstate the rightful place of Amazigh identity, encompassing history, language, and culture, within education, research, and public media. The input of marginalized women will be highly considered, as they are the ones who are the most affected.
