Central and East Africa: Strengthening the Voice of Marginalised Minorities

This is a mid-term evaluation carried out approximately half way through the programme with the aim of both ensuring that it is broadly on track and encouraging all involved to reflect on how things are working and anything that could be done better.  The evaluator concluded that, ‘in overall terms, the programme is making good progress, and is well on target in terms of meeting its purpose …’  The evaluator was particularly impressed by the para-legal training activities included within the programme, the legal cases work as well as media work.  He suggested some changes in ways of working with partners and recommended that the team redouble efforts to encourage partners in each country to work together where their aims overlap.  He was also able to suggest some ways in which the current set of activities could be developed to make them more sustained and sustainable.
