South-East Europe: Diversity and Democracy Programme

This evaluation looked at MRG’s programme of work in South East Europe “Diversity and Democracy” between 1999 and 2003. The programme activities evaluated included Advocacy and Rights Training events, workshops, translation of publications, Advocacy and capacity building. The evaluation found that “[The programme] has had a major effect on creating a body of organisations that can take forward the overall goals of promoting minority rights and enabling sustainable conflict resolution.” It found that the programme had delivered all of the planned activities and that the quality of the work was high.

Recommendations include that MRG should consider increasing the level of staffing on programmes and that MRG strengthen internal procedures for assessing outcomes and impact.
