‘Up the Hills; Down the Valley’ – Film screening and Q&A in Bangkok, Thailand
When: 7pm, Tuesday 16 February
Where: Foreign Correspondents’ Club of Thailand, Bangkok, Thailand
We are proud to present a screening of Minority Rights Group’s new short documentary ‘Up the Hills; Down the Valley’, plus Q&A with the producer Gigi Berardi and other experts.
The film follows La and Tuong, two women of Thai ethnicity living in the mountainous area northwest of Vietnam. Both women live with HIV, and the film documents their daily struggles to earn a living and support their families. Despite the stigma of the disease, the film communicates a message of hope, particularly through the companionship of other women in a local support group.
