On the evening of 3 November 2022 (7:00PM-8:00PM CET), OHCHR and UNHCR will organize a Ceremony to celebrate the 8th Anniversary of the #IBelong Campaign and to announce the laureates of the International Art Contest for Minority Artists working on Statelessness Themes, launched jointly with the NGOs Freemuse and Minority Rights Group International (MRG).

The International Art Contest’s main aims are to support minority artists’ work on statelessness and raise awareness on the human rights of stateless individuals and groups belonging to minorities. ‘This Contest enables minority artists to convey some of the emotions relating to statelessness. The stories of stateless people must not be lost; the work of minority artists must be visible. This competition does both,’ said the UN Special Rapporteur in the Field of Cultural Rights Alexandra Xanthaki.
