Voices. Nothing about us without us
Project details

The project ‘Voices. Nothing about us without us’ is a social campaign that aims to make refugees’ voices heard. We want this campaign to be co-created by the refugees and migrants. We want to give people an opportunity to present themselves as they wish to be presented. This is to strengthen the community’s capacity for self-advocacy. It is about giving back the space for refugees to speak up. It is about their agency, self-confidence and self-esteem. We got a lot of feedback from the refugee community that it is disturbing that many stakeholders (media, NGOs, public institutions, etc) use their image in an instrumentalized way, often showing them as helpless victims. Most of them don’t agree with such a narrative and want to create another one. We will make it happen.
