Womxn to Womxn: Intercultural Forces

Organisation: Reka Si institute for sustainable living | Reka Si, Zavod za trajnostno bivanje

Location: Ljubljana, Maribor and Ptu

The project fosters integration as a multi-way process through peer support and artistic expression.

It will promote peer-to-peer learning, where women (Muslim and former Muslim) support each other in navigating housing, healthcare and labour integration, for their economic empowerment. The program actively combats discrimination, particularly against women wearing headscarves, promoting inclusive access to essential services.

The project will also use the power of art to drive intercultural understanding. Stories of Arabic-speaking feminism will be transformed into interactive theatre performances in English and Slovene. These stories will also be published to challenge stereotypes and xenophobia.

The project empowers women, amplifies their voices, and fosters greater social cohesion in Slovenia.

Grant Amount: €15,000
