Empowering the Pomak in Bulgaria
Project details
Association for Civic Enterprises in Bulgaria – KLIN will apply its experience and capacity together with its local stakeholders and partners in the Pomak regions to empower youth in the Bulgarian Muslim community in terms of human rights, economic development, gender equality and media literacy. This will be done by delivering a mix of hybrid peer-to-peer training. The most engaged and best-performing participants will be included in a network for further cooperation and development.
Furthermore, the project will prepare extensive photo and video materials documenting the traditions, culture and life of the Pomaks in the Rhodope Mountains. This will be coupled with a series of 6 narrative articles by an award-winning team to be distributed in the mainstream media to raise awareness of the human rights and economic issues that the religious minority is facing, as well as give a platform to the locals to express their point of view and promote their culture and traditions.
