‘Greening’ the Human Rights Protection of Roma Communities is a research and advocacy initiative at the grassroots project. One main component is covering two different featured Roma neighbourhoods with a Social LAB experiment to gain knowledge and empower Roma youths to act for change on Environmental Justice issues. It also covers 30 communities with an online survey on environmental Justice to create solid knowledge to develop advocacy tools and media coverage for awareness raising.
The other main component is building alliances between CBOs, environmentalists and Human Rights lawyers to advocate for better domestic legislation and understand and analyse the recent options and gaps in soft and hard legal instruments in cases of environmental injustice.
