Human rights-based approaches to development education: A toolkit for activists in new EU member states

18 November 2009

This toolkit is the product of a two-year project undertaken by Minority Rights Group International (MRG) with the aim of raising public awareness of development problems and increasing public support in the new Member States of the European Union for their governments’ international assistance and policy. 8 European NGOs namely African Center of Slovenia, ANNWIN Slovakia, Foundation for Development of Democratic Rights Hungary (DemNet), Hungarian Africa Platform, KARAT Coalition Poland, Polish Humanitarian Organisation (PHO), SOS Malta and Youth Against AIDS Latvia carried out their one-year in-country awareness raising campaigns and their lessons learnt are shared in this book. The production of this toolkit was a participatory experience and this exchange of experience between actors was particularly valuable to promote sharing of learning, skills and knowledge. If you like any of the campaigning tools in this toolkit and feel that you would like to implement it, please do so. What we learnt and did is at your disposal. We hope that this toolkit will help you in your work or study.
